College of Engineering (CoE)

National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) has a long and proud history. NTHU has been consistently ranked as one of the premier universities in Taiwan and is widely recognized as the best incubator for future leaders in industries as well as academics. Especially, founded in 1972, the College of Engineering is ranked among the top hundred engineering schools in the world. According to QS World University Rankings 2010, Engineering in NTHU is ranked at the 67th.

The externally funded research is currently over 460 million NTD. Integration among departments and collaboration with industry are emphasized.

The college is composed of four departments and two graduate institutes: Department of Chemical Engineering, Department of Power Mechanical Engineering, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, Institute of Nano Engineering and MicroSystems and Institute of Medical Engineering.

Currently, the roster of faculties and staffs is 125 and 45, respectively. There are more than three thousands students, with 1452 undergraduates, 937 graduate students for master’s  program and 664 for doctoral program. Student-faculty ratio stands about 24.6:1.

CoE in NTHU is a great environment to pursue your degree in one of the outstanding engineering colleges in the world. CoE also provides students the chance to interact with many famous companies and institutes to expand their vision in the most prospective research and maintain the extensive relationship with the industry. The graduates from CoE-NTHU have many great opportunities for their future career development in the top high-tech companies and R&D institutes in Taiwan, especially in Hsinchu Science Park.

Besides, College of Engineers International Support Association (CoE INSA will try to help and support international students during their learning and living at NTHU. It also serves a channel to connect foreign students and NTHU professors. 

Moreover, all foreign students have the priority to be allotted on-campus dormitories. Multiple types of rooms are there for graduate students to choose from. For undergraduate students, 4-person rooms are available.
